Eco-nomic Innovations Ltd. works with leading Universities / Technical Colleges to commercialise inventions that are good for the environment. Patent applications have been made in Europe, US, Japan and South Korea in diverse areas – domestic boilers and mining/recycling processes. These inventions are to be licensed to leading companies.
Jonathan Eves was born and educated in Dublin where he obtained his first engineering degree from University College Dublin. Later, he was awarded an MSc from Wits University, Johannesburg while pioneering a mineral processing innovation in the South African gold industry. He has twelve years experience in commercial research laboratories up to Programme Manager level complemented by six years practical production experience up to Plant Manager level.
During his career in multi-nationals, Jonathan was the R & D Programme Manager for the first of De Beers’ new generation digital diamond sorting machines during their successful commissioning. He successfully introduced a mineral recovery innovation to the Anglo American Corporation called column flotation. Jonathan also developed a commercial flowsheet for a process utilising neutron radiography.
Eco-nomic Innovations Ltd. began investigating a wind turbine control system but an initial patent search found to have been patented by Vestas a year earlier and the technology is now incorporated into most modern wind turbines.
The second innovation is the EcoDry system that integrates with domestic boilers to remove unhealthy levels of moisture from the home while reducing NOx and CO2 emissions of the boiler.
The third, SpecSep is a innovation that significantly reduces reagent consumption in the widely used Dense medium Separation process. An explanation of the SpecSep patent pending technology may be downloaded here.
